7 great wedding tips along with Ben and Lexi’s Wedding Video Trailer

Have you ever wondered why some weddings just seem to stand out? I know I have. As I was getting this post ready I thought of 7 ideas, tips, whatever you want to call them to help aid you in your wedding planning.

1. If you can, work with a wedding planner. Even if it’s just for the day of the wedding. They will help calm your nerves.
2. Planning a wedding in a warm state like Arizona takes some careful maneuvering. Be sure to have plenty of water bottles available to your guests. Trust me, they’ll appreciate it!
3. Write your own vows. Now I know this can be a hard one for some people, but with a little effort and some help from family and friends you can come up with vows that everyone will remember.
4. Consider scraping traditions that don’t mean anything to you. Just because everyone else does it doesn’t mean you have to. One great example is from a recent wedding where in lieu of a wedding cake Jeff and Elena opted for a Gelato Bar!
5. Make the wedding party size fit you. Trust me, you don’t have to include every cousin, aunt or sorority sister you’ve ever had into your wedding party. Keep it manageable. You can still include these special people into your wedding by having them ready scripture or poems during the ceremony.
6. On site makeup and hair. This I highly recommend. It makes life sooo much easier for everyone, the less you have to drive around on your wedding day with your bridal party the better!
7. Have fun, don’t rush the detail moments. Enjoy the first kiss, enjoy the walk up and down the aisle, no one is going to be annoyed if you hug and kiss and high five everyone on your way down the aisle, it’s your time.

Okay now on to Ben and Lexi’s wedding trailer.
Ben and Lexi’s wedding took place at the Royal Palms Resort. If you aren’t familiar with it, it’s amazing. I mean knock your socks off amazing. It’s not huge and not small and they way it is built makes every little nook and cranny feel inviting and secluded. It’s a really sweet place and I’m so glad Lexi and Ben choose it for their wedding.

On of my favorite things about Ben and Lexi’s Scottsdale wedding was the general feeling. It was so apparent from the get go that Ben just adored Lexi. Having that feeling surrounding them made the whole day magical. They were seriously so sweet together.

We’ve had the chance to work with Hollye at many of our events and it’s always a killer time. She’s not only an incredibly talented wedding photographer, but she’s really fun to be around. Hollye is one of those wedding photographers who never seems frazzled or concerned, everything just seems so easy and I’ve noticed how wonderful that is for the bride and groom.

1. What flower would you like to grow in your garden if you had one?
- This is a hard one because I love so many flowers! I’d have to go with
Gerber Daisies. They are such happy flowers!

2. Piece of clothing you love:
- My cowboy boots! I have been wearing them way too much lately.

3. Name a delicious dessert:
- Chocolate Molten Cakes. I make them every Christmas for my family!
It’s the best way to end an enormous meal… plus I am addicted to
chocolate.

4. Regardless of size or …(sorry I didn’t get that part down!), what
animal would you like as a pet?
- A monkey! I think it would be so much fun to have a pet monkey. It’s
like a little partner in crime.

5. Favorite part about planning weddings:
- I love to see it all come together on the day of. Everyone I work with
comes together in the end and rocks it out for the bride and groom on
their wedding day. It’s true! All of the meetings, e-mails, and
decisions about tiny details are finally in reality and exactly what they
wanted! It’s such a great feeling to be a part of it- that is all I can
say.

Summer and Matt’s Wedding Film

Summer and Matt were so sweet to each other on their wedding day. Matt was so accommodating and loving, that you can feel how deep their relationship is! One of my favorite things about Summer and Matt is how they met in Mexico and fell in love. And then Summer went to visit Matt back in Colorado and never came home! We’ve got the whole story in their Love Story video that I’ll need to post so you can see just how fun they are! Another really special thing about Summer and Matt’s wedding video is that they were featured on Platinum Weddings and so there was this HUGE crew working behind the scenes. Summer and Matt kept their cool, though, and the day went off with out a hitch!

Here’s what Summer and Matt had to say about their experience with My Wedding Film

“I can’t express how excited my husband and I were to view our wedding video for the first time. Our wedding was very hectic, and I felt like I missed so many things – especially all the details that I had spent a year planning. It is such a surreal day and things go so fast – I was so relieved to know that I would be able to “catch” all the little things I missed when we finally viewed our video. Needless to say, when we watched it for the first time, we had tears in our eyes! We had provided some music for My Wedding Film to incorporate into the video, and they could not have done a better job in the placement of those pieces of music. They also chose some music on their own for the most important part of the video (in my mind), which was the moment I began to walk down the aisle with my parents. Even to this day, when I watch that part, I get chills and goosebumps – the music was amazing – perfect for the romantic, Spanish-style theme wedding we had. The way they edited that part of the video was so awesome – I couldn’t have asked for a better “replay” of that special moment. It was so great to be able to see my reaction as I walked towards my husband, his reaction at seeing me for the first time, our parents’ and guests’ faces as they watched us get married. These are things that you never notice – you are way too nervous and preoccupied. Of course, as the Bride, you never get to see your bridesmaids walk down the aisle, or your husband and groomsmen. I loved to watch the video of all of my friends and sister walk down the aisle, and the part where the guys follow the Pastor in is one of my favorites. All those big guys walking in a line towards such a momentous event– such a dramatic moment, and the music was perfect. I got to see my husband’s Best Man shake his hand and have a “moment” the second I started to walk down the aisle. Myweddingfilm captured every detail, every important person in our lives that was there, put the meaningful moments to beautiful music, and made our special day even more memorable with their presence. The portion of the video where we are in the bridal suite getting ready is also a favorite of mine – set to a fast-paced Roger Cline favorite, they even “sped up” the footage – it actually portrayed the craziness of that morning perfectly! Then it slows down when my tiara is being placed by my hair stylist – the music conveys the moods of the day so well, and it allowed me to relive all those amazing feelings I felt as I prepared to get married.

Even the night before our wedding at the rehearsal dinner, Darby went out of her way to make sure that we had a way to show our Love Story video to our friends and family. We had had some difficulties with the facility in making that happen, and Darby saw to it that we would get it done. My Wedding Film made the most amazing video of the story of how we met in Mexico (filmed in Rocky Point). My mother cried the first time she saw it, and it was so wonderful to be able to share the story of how and where we fell in love with all of our friends and family. My dad was surprised to see himself on the screen – and me too – I didn’t know what was going to be on there! It was by far the most memorable part of our rehearsal dinner and guests couldn’t stop commenting on what a great video it was! We also formed new friendships with My Wedding Film on that trip to Mexico, and couldn’t have had a better time! Our Love Story, along with our wedding video, will be something we watch on every anniversary, and that we can share with our children in the years to come. I would tell anyone getting married to DEFINITELY hire My Wedding Film to document the most special moment of your life – you will not regret it! Details and Dancing

The shot that Stacy shares here is one that will really draw you in. The camera starts out focused on one item either, say in the background of the then switches to become focused on an item in the foreground of the shot. Our experienced team constantly practices and has perfected this particular way of drawing you into the shot.

Notice the subtly changes in lighting that take place as the camera moves from the candle to the dance floor reveling the party goers. Also a great thing to note about this shot is the fantastic lighting of the dance floor. We take great pains to subtly add light to a reception hall without being distracting or shining lights in the eyes of you or your guests!

Shannon and Cody’s Wedding Film

There is something about Cody and Shannon. Not only are the both amazingly hot, but they have the most fun together and it really shows in their wedding film. This wedding video is another all time favorite amongst the myweddingfilm team! We loved the heartfelt and funny vows they read and the classy color combination.
