5 unique wedding details + a quick interview with stacy!
Are you all about the details? I love details. I adore details. I might even go as far to say I’m obsessed with them. Whenever one of our teams goes to a wedding one of the first things they talk about upon returning are the details.
I don’t know what it is. I mean details (favors, flowers, cakes, ect) are pretty, but why are we so obsessed with them!! I’ve been trying to figure it out for a while and while I don’t know that I have an answer I think it has something to do with wanting to feel very thoughtful. It’s like when you see a Martha Stewart magazine, you may not want to be just like Martha, but I know I’ve wished my Thanksgiving dinner presentation had looked that good!
5 amazing wedding detail ideas
1. Make it you.
This is from a wedding a few years ago. I love how they took the need for seating cards and came up with something totally out of the box. These seating cards all had little magnets on the so they would stick to the metal poles. I love this idea and the use of their colors as well!
2. Think Multifunctional
Let’s be honest, Arizona is a flipping hot place. With temperatures that can reach 115 one some days we need a way to cool down. Now unless you are thinking, hey let’s have a swimming ceremony (which would be really fun, btw) your guests will need a way to cool off. I loved this use of an early May wedding program.
3. Reinvent.
I loved the way this bride used a piece of her mothers wedding dress. The cut off a section and used it as the wrap for her bouquet! How cool is that. I love when things at wedding have meaning and history.
4. Be bold.
One of my favorite shows to watch is Ace of Cakes, I think it’s on the Food Network. The story follows this really fun bakery called Charm City Cakes who make some of the worlds most extreme cakes. Now I understand that extreme cake-ness is not for everyone. But I do love it when I see a cake that show’s off the couples personalities and helps tell the story of who they are. This cake was screaming personality to me and I love the fun whimsical detail work. This cake was designed by the bride herself, and created by the pastry chef at DC Ranch.
5. Ditch the cake?
So I didn’t realize this, but apparently not everyone loves eating wedding cake as much as I do! At one of our recent weddings we had a couple who opted to toss the wedding cake idea out the window and go for something totally different. They hosted a Gelato bar instead! This idea was so fun that the Associated Press asked the photographer, Darby Elizabeth to send them photos to use in world wide news articles! Click here to read a few of the articles!

My short little interview
I have another unique wedding detail I wanted to show you, but its on video. So I thought I’d quickly explain a little about the clip and why it’s so fun. The wedding planner was Victoria Canada of Victoria Canada Weddings and Events. I’m guessing this was her brain child as it is brilliant!
