Villa Siena- Wedding Film Trailer

villa siena + blue skies = easy on the eyes

I’ll admit it, I’m a little biased in my love for this wedding. The first time I met Steve and Summer was during their engagement shoot where they ended up jumping up and down on an old couch we found next to the Phoenix Art Museum (which is a whole other story)! I knew right then and there that I was going to love working with this couple. And I did.

Hosted at the ever beautiful east valley venue, Villa Siena, the weather was perfect for a wedding, and the lovely wedding planners from Blue Orchid Designs made sure that it was smooth sailing for the entire wedding party – from the wedding dress lace-up to the sparkler exit!

My 3 favorite things about Summer and Steve’s trailer are:
1. The Villa Siena ballroom – it really is to die for.
2. The flowers in the fountain – courtesy of Kristen Mandly of A Wedding Occasion Floral.
3. Summer’s ‘evening’ veil. She changed wedding veils before the reception and I loved the evening veil a lot!

“Darby,
Summer called me from her honeymoon and told me that this little preview was able to be seen. I love it!!!! I am so excited. Everyone told me that there would be so much I would miss the night of the wedding or that I wouldn’t remember and that it all goes by too quickly and I see now that they were correct. Just the little bit you have here brings it all back (and more than I was actually able to comprehend at the time). Thank you so, so much.” – Barbra, mother of the bride

Pink! Carrying A Theme Through A Wedding

Having A Theme At Your Wedding – The Color Pink

I think there’s an art to pulling off a theme at a wedding, whether it’s a color scheme or something else. But when done right, they create lasting memories and can add flare and a common thread through your wedding day – and your wedding film.

Charlie and Kent’s wedding theme was the color Pink, and their wedding planner, Victoria Canada, pulled it off flawlessly. Not only is there pink everywhere, but it looks classy, elegant, and fun all at the same time!

This little minute and a half mini-film shows just how much fun carrying a theme through out your entire wedding can be!

Be sure to browse our films for other examples of fun wedding themes.

Meet Jonas

Today I thought I’d share a little slice of my life with you.

Four weeks ago my husband and I welcomed our first baby into our family. Jonas was born with dark hair and almond shaped eyes at a whopping 8lbs 6oz. He’s been wonderful to have around – and he’s been keeping me really busy!

Well, last week Keith Pitts, a fantastic Scottsdale photographer, generously offered to come shoot some photos of our little guy. Here are three shots Keith sent over last week after the shoot and I’ve been anxious to show off his great work!

DC Ranch – Wedding Film Trailer

*I decided to highlight this trailer because of the extra ordinary detail in includes.
This is a great one to get the ideas rolling on how to customize your wedding! Happy planning! Darby

dc ranch + courtyard reception = breathtaking

Teresa and Mike’s DC Ranch wedding was out of this world. Planner Victoria Canada did an outrageously amazing job on the unique details and theme – and photographer Hollye Schumacher captured it all perfectly!

My 3 favorite things about Teresa and Mike’s trailer are:
1. The gerbera daisies.
2. The bridesmaids dresses – I loved that they didn’t all match.
3. The ceremony set up, with four aisles.

If you enjoyed this trailer you’ll probably love our other wedding trailers!

paradise valley country club + the color purple = wicked sweet!

James and Lisa’s wedding at the Paradise Valley Country Club was perfect. Paired up with the ever amazing photographer Hollye Schumacher, My Wedding Film was able to capture some of the most stunning wedding footage of the year.

Three of my favorite aspects of Lisa and James’ trailer are:
1. The wedding ceremony set up. It’s really unique, which is always fun.
2. All of the intricate and phenomenal wedding details.
3. The cake, you won’t see it till the end of the trailer, but it’s awesome!

Great Wedding Films Are Found In: The Audio

One thing that really sets apart a great wedding film is audio. With the right skill, the audio captured at your wedding can be used to add to the personality of you and your wedding party!

We’ve put together an example (using some a small section from a toast and from the vows of a recent wedding) to show how powerful and amazing audio can make your film.

Feel free to check out more examples of how the different elements of great wedding films should sound and feel.

Live Wedding Bands

Having Live Music At Your Wedding

Live bands are to die for. I’m not a big concert goer, but every time I’m at a wedding with a live band I feel like I am. It’s so much fun!! They can add a dynamic kick to your wedding night and your wedding film.

This mini-film shows a wedding with not one but two bands! Instead of having both a DJ and a live band (which is typical so the music will keep going even when the band takes a break) this couple opted for two bands and they just kept switching places. Very fun, very cool.

The two bands featured in this mini-film are with the company West Coast Music out of LA and they are both phenomenally talented!

If you have a moment, browse through some of our films for more examples of live bands and how fun they can be in a wedding film.
