Do you ever feel like you are asking your wedding professionals the same questions over and over again? I thought it would be fun to ask a few non-traditional questions to Cicely Rocha-Miller of Life Design Event Planning to spice things up a tad!

We actually met Cicely when she was a My Wedding Film bride a few years ago – I always love it when we get to continue the strong relationship we build with our couples years later. Cicely is an immensely talented AZ wedding planner and I’d highly suggest checking her out!

If you want Cic to email you more on what she can offer to make your wedding perfect, just fill out the little form below and she’ll get you everything you need!

Get to know Cicely

1) What is the origin of your name, “Cicely?” There has got to be a story behind it….
To be honest… my Mom was just trying to pick an unusual name, and being the first girl in the family (and having two older brother’s named Bill & Ernie) she thought Cicely was certainly something different. It did help that her Mother was born in Palermo, Italy and that she was Sicilian. Mom also tells me that she saw the name in a baby book and it meant “musical,” which is a passion of our family.

2) What is the strangest thing you have ever done?
One day while my husband Joey and I were vacationing in Italy, we were walking the fashion district on the streets of Florence. We noticed this handsome Florentine salesman standing outside his very small shop. Randomly, Joey bet me to pull on the guys very posh silk tie. At first, I replied, “No Way!” but then as we walked by him I lightly tugged and said, “Ding Dong. I like your tie!” in a high pitched nursery rhyme tone. The nicely dressed man looked at me puzzled and then like clockwork the three of us started laughing hysterically. I am not sure if he understood English but he certainly thought I was strange.

3) Why do you love planning weddings?
Life is truly defined by all our wonderful and amazing experiences and I love being a part of those celebrations. I love weddings in particular because of the profound connections (literally) it has on lives eternally. Weddings give me an intense amount of insight to those marrying and also to their family and friends – and the planning journey it takes us on is so individual and different for every client. Plainly, I love weddings simply because of what it stands for – love – which to me is the meaning of life.

1. What flower would you like to grow in your garden if you had one?
- This is a hard one because I love so many flowers! I’d have to go with
Gerber Daisies. They are such happy flowers!

2. Piece of clothing you love:
- My cowboy boots! I have been wearing them way too much lately.

3. Name a delicious dessert:
- Chocolate Molten Cakes. I make them every Christmas for my family!
It’s the best way to end an enormous meal… plus I am addicted to
chocolate.

4. Regardless of size or …(sorry I didn’t get that part down!), what
animal would you like as a pet?
- A monkey! I think it would be so much fun to have a pet monkey. It’s
like a little partner in crime.

5. Favorite part about planning weddings:
- I love to see it all come together on the day of. Everyone I work with
comes together in the end and rocks it out for the bride and groom on
their wedding day. It’s true! All of the meetings, e-mails, and
decisions about tiny details are finally in reality and exactly what they
wanted! It’s such a great feeling to be a part of it- that is all I can
say.
